SLU "Public Health: Unscripted"

The Saint Louis University "Public Health: Unscripted" podcast is a student-led podcast series that looks more deeply into the work of students, professors, staff, and community partners within the public health landscape of St. Louis.

Our biweekly series, led by second-year SLU M.P.H. student Luke Busboom and produced by CPHSJ staff, discusses academic and professional topics across all concentrations in the public health world. The hosts add a dash of whimsy and character along the way. Topics discussed include behavioral science and health education; biosecurity and disaster preparedness; biostatistics; epidemiology; global health; health management and policy; maternal and child health public health practice; and public health practice.

Episode 25: Journey Amundson

Learn more about what it is like to be both a D1 athlete and an MPH student at SLU on this episode with Journey Amundson! Gain an insight into the student experience within CPHSJ and what it is like to balance school, work and extracurriculars while also practicing self-care. Finally, listeners will learn what a “hustle mindset” means to Amundson and how she puts it into practice to make the most out of her time.

Episode 24: Kelly Van Etten

In this episode of the ‘Public Health: Unscripted’ podcast, second-year MPH student, Kelly Van Etten shares her experience completing her APEx internship this summer. 

Van Etten, who interned at “City MatCH”, shared how she prepared herself for this internship as well as the interview process. She discussed several different projects that she worked on and some of the highlights from her experience. Listen to learn more about Van Etten's public health journey and how she ended up where she is thanks to opportunities that SLU provided for her.

Episode 23: Reilly Agmon & Hannah Gross

This episode of the ‘Public Health: Unscripted’ podcast features second-year master of public health students, Reilly Agmon and Hannah Gross. Agmon, who currently serves as the Student Outbreak Response Team President shares his plans and goals for the student organization this semester while also giving us some more insight into who he is. Gross, who serves as the President for the Student Association for Public Health, explains how the organization functions and the different activities that students can expect this semester.
