Midwest Metabolic Clinical Symposium

The fourth annual Midwest Metabolic Clinical Symposium will provide the health care community with specialty-specific insight into the multidisciplinary approach to metabolic diseases — many of which are missed or underdiagnosed. Experts from across the globe will present current and emerging best practices for the management of obesity; diabetes; non-alcoholic fatty liver disease; cardiovascular disease; pediatric metabolic diseases; and PCOS.

Organizers hope bringing awareness to the conditions and their impact will help physicians identify at-risk patients early.

Date: Saturday, April 11, to Sunday, April 12
Location: SLU Education Union, 1312 Carr Lane Ave., St. Louis, MO 63104

Frank R. Burton Memorial Lecture Series

This annual lecture series honors Frank R. Burton, M.D., a division faculty member and esteemed expert in pancreatic disease who spent 25 years researching the pancreas. He was the founding member of both the National Institutes of Health-funded North American Pancreatitis group and the yearly conference, PancreasFest. The event continues Burton's legacy of demystifying and examining pancreatic conditions.

Date: Thursday, May 14, to Friday, May 15
Invited speaker: Georgios Papachristou, M.D., Ph.D.
